Celtics Nets Game Re-Cap
Well thats all for game 1 between the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets. The Celtics take this game in convincing fasion 93-76. Really all this game came down to was the production of the Celtics bench vs the lack of production from the Nets starting five.
Brooklyn got off to a quick start in the first quarter, but were unable to keep it going as Boston came out strong in the second outscoring the
Nets 34-18. After that, the Nets were really unable to catch-up.
Thanks to big games from Jeff Green and Jared Sullinger, the Celtics were able to keep their lead at half, and push it to almost 20 in the third. Green finished with 15 on 5 of 8 shooting and Sullinger finsihed with his best game, putting in 16 points on 6 of 7 shooting and 7 rebounds.
But then the emotions started to kick in and Gerald Wallace and Kevin Garnett got tangled up and double techs were handed out. Brooklyn got it to within 13 but were unable to get the game any closer. Really, their problems today lied with Deron Williams’ quiet night. He finished with 10 points on 3 of 7 shooting and 6 assists. They needed Williams to attack and be their star but he just couldn’t come through. Joe Johnson also had a quiet night as he finished with twleve points on 4 of 14 shooting. For a team like the Nets, a combined 22 points from supposedly the best back-court in the NBA, just wont cut it.
Game one is finished, Celtics take in Brooklyn, be sure to catch the Lakers Knicks game, thanks for reading!
